meat:food of rich people

With the spread of cereals, of wine e and olive oil the Roman-Christian food habits started to change and they mixed with those of the Roman-Germanic peoples. For the most part, the proud and rough barbarians dishes were based on a pork fat and they loved to drink a beer called “cerveza”.

This drink is obtained by fermenting corn, barley and oats had great success.
The food of farmers
Unlike rich people, the farmers were frugal all the year. In fact the poorest had no means to feed themselves enough, but even those farmers with more lands and more money avoided meat and fish because they were deeply convinced that these foods were reserved for lords.

Bread, wine, olive oil: foods and religious symbols

In Greek-Roman time’s bread, wine and olive oil were the fondamentals foods of Mediterranean’s world. In the IV century d.C. , when the Christian religion was the most diffused religion in the Roman Empire, they were considered the sacred foods for excellence. These fondamentals foods, so commons and indispensables in the daily diet had in the Christian medieval the meaning of spiritual diet too. Wine and bread were so important for the Christians communities, that the presence of vineyard and fields of grain marked the diffusion of the Christian religion in Europe. In fact almost everywhere the monks founded a convent; they cultivated grapes and grain, even when the climate wasn’t good for these plants. So today there isn’t religion of Europe that didn’t have his wine.

Special food for Christmas

It's Christmas time and in every country there are different traditions, above all in food.
In my town some days before Christmas you can prepare traditional sweets called"SFOGLIATELLE". They have the shape of a rose and they are usually filled with almonds, honey or marmelade, cocoa, sugar, lemon and vanilla.

On Christmas eve the typical dinner consists above all of fish while on Christmas day people have pasta, meat and many other dishes for lunch.

MY BREAKFAST

In the morning,I usually have breakfast with milk
and biscuits or a croissant with some fruit juice.
My mother has breakfast with just a cup of coffee;
my brother has usually a croissant with milk and my father
doesn’t have breakfast at home…He usually goes to the
bar where he has the typical and famous italian “cappuccino”
and “cornetto”…

THE LAST SUPPER
In the Christian Celebrations, the Last Supper (also called the Lord's Supper ) was the last meal Jesus shared with his Twelve Apostles and disciples before his death. The Last Supper has been the subject of many paintings, perhaps the most famous by Leonardo da Vinci. According to what Paul the Apostle told in 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, in the course of the Last Supper, and with specific reference to eating bread and drinking from a cup, Jesus told his disciples, "Do this in remembrance of me". Other events and dialogue are recorded in the Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John. Many Christians describe this as the "Institution of the Eucharist". During the last supper they ate bitter herbs meat no leavened bread and wine.

WHAT TO AVOID

It's important to have regular meals and not to eat a single food group.
It isn't true that it helps to decrease our weight. Our body has the memory of famine so it's reaction will be to absorb as
much as possible its nutritional properties. This will cause an excessive accumulation.
Another mistake is to abolish the carbohydrate and fat from the diet. It's as to remove fuel from a car before a long trip. • Replace the regular supply of bars
and have "sugar-free products ". But the bars are not entirely free of
calories and sugar.
If you make those mistakes you will enter in the world of anorexia. It is the decreased sensation of appetite. While the term in non-scientific publications is often used interchangeably with anorexia nervosa, there are many possible
causes for a decreased appetite.

Food & Dance

My menu

I’m a dancer, so I try to follow the following menu for my needs ...
Breakfast: yogurt, fruit, a cup of milk, coffee or tea.
Lunch: pasta or rice, simply prepared, with some vegetables.
Dinner: meat, fish, ham, cheese and a salad, usually the beginning of the meal.
During meals, I also have some bread.

Food and Dance

….JUST FOOD!!!

When you have a passion for dance you want to keep fit for ever because of the joy of dancing and the desire to improve. But the fact of being thin to improve athletic performance should not be a real problem. If it’s so, you could lose joy and lucidity but also the quality of your performances. The daily exercises require a lot of energy.. Losing weight isn’t useful if the only result is to be slimmer. Dancing well requires perfect mental and physical shape. Each of us has a particular physical structure linked to the metabolism. Don’t start any diet by yourself! It could dangerous!

Fasting at Christmas

In Greece, a fasting period would start almost 40 days before Christmas. While the fasting was predominately for religious reasons, many considered the period to be a healthful practice as well. The faithful would not eat any animal or its related products, i.e. meat, dairy or eggs.

The Potato Eaters is a painting by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh that he painted in April 1885 while in Nuenen, Netherlands. It is housed in the Van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam.
During March and the beginning of April 1885 he sketched studies for the painting, and corresponded with his brother, who was not impressed with his current work or the sketches van Gogh sent him. He worked on the painting from April 13th until the beginning of May, when it was mostly done except for minor changes which he made with a small brush later the same year.
