meat:food of rich people





With the spread of cereals, of wine e and olive oil the Roman-Christian food habits started to change and they mixed with those of the Roman-Germanic peoples. For the most part, the proud and rough barbarians dishes were based on a pork fat and they loved to drink a beer called “cerveza”.


This drink is obtained by fermenting corn, barley and oats had great success.
The food of farmers
Unlike rich people, the farmers were frugal all the year. In fact the poorest had no means to feed themselves enough, but even those farmers with more lands and more money avoided meat and fish because they were deeply convinced that these foods were reserved for lords.
